Maybe I missed reading or hearing it, but I’m surprised that none of the pundits have made reference to similarities between John McCain in 2007 – 2008 and Newt Gingrich now. If I remember correctly, McCain was given up for dead in his campaign just about this time. Eerie, I think, no?

As a lifelong Democrat I personally like Newt Gingrich. He has my attention. I feel that he represents my values. Similar to the way I felt Obama spoke for my values in his campaign. I think his lack of knowledge of how Washington really works has stopped many of the ‘Changes’ he [and I] wanted. I’ve heard of Gingrich as being ‘too’ plugged in, in Washington. Well, one extreme didn’t work, maybe the other way will. My family has suffered greatly since the construction/housing bubble burst in 2006. We have lost nearly everything since then: our house, car, medical, jobs, quality of life and so much more. So, this round, I’m looking to someone who has a no nonsense approach and doesn’t care if he offends some people. That’s what I thought Obama would do. I underestimated how much power Congress had over the President. To the point where I see Congress as holding the power. Not the President. Maybe Newt Gingrich can take the power back?
